This aircraft was recovered from the water shortly after battle. It was noted during recovery that even though all ignition switches were found in the on and running position the wings were still folded.
Apparently an over eager American pilot forgot to check his wings before attempting a take-off to get back in the fight.
After testing this aircraft Shokaku Bomber crews were very impressed..." Oooh, it fry rike a Caddirrack! ..and nice fur lined cup holders!!!
